Our story
From local youth action to a structured platform for participation.
CYEI was established in 2020 through the leadership of Richardson Kyeyune and young people seeking a more organised response to barriers affecting youth and underserved communities. Early activity centred on youth meetings, skills development, leadership, community awareness and connection to support.
The organisation has since developed a clearer programme identity and stronger emphasis on digital opportunity, livelihoods, responsible civic participation, inclusion and refugee and host-community engagement.
Young people are not statistics at the edge of a programme. They are contributors, peer leaders, volunteers, innovators, storytellers and accountability partners.

How CYEI works
A practical cycle from listening to learning.
Every programme should move through a disciplined process rather than beginning with publicity or assumptions.

Known as “Chief”Provides executive leadership, organisational representation, strategic coordination, partnership development and oversight of day-to-day operations. Within CYEI and many of the communities and teams he works with, Richardson is widely known as Chief.
