Plan for disability, gender, language, literacy, transport, caregiving and other participation barriers.
Photograph and story standard
- Confirm consent and the purpose of publication
- Protect children, survivors and vulnerable participants
- Do not imply an image shows a project unless it genuinely does
- Avoid humiliating, sensational or pity-based imagery
- Use accurate captions and photographer credits
- Remove location details where disclosure creates risk
- Review quotations and stories with the participant before publication
