Kyaka II Social Equity Programme

A documented youth-registration and programme-preparation record focused on enterprise readiness, opportunity access and social inclusion.

Project overview

The challenge

Young people in displacement settings often face limited access to livelihood information, mentors, markets, digital tools and structured pathways from learning to work.

Project goal

To connect eligible young people to practical financial literacy, employability, enterprise-readiness and credible opportunity pathways through a safely managed programme model.

Objectives

  • Register and assess eligible youth using privacy-protective systems
  • Understand learning, livelihood and enterprise needs
  • Connect participants to relevant learning, mentors and opportunity pathways
  • Track realistic participation and referral outcomes

Main activities

  • Participant registration and mobilisation
  • Needs and opportunity assessment
  • Planned financial-literacy and employability learning
  • Planned enterprise-readiness and mentorship
  • Referral and follow-up design

Implementation approach

Participant registers are confidential. Public reporting uses aggregated information unless specific informed consent has been obtained.

Verified progress and results

  • Programme registration and mobilisation records exist
  • Youth participants were recorded from multiple Kyaka II zones

Partners and roles

  • Junior Achievement Uganda - documented in the programme registration record; current status requires written confirmation

Challenges

  • Registration records alone do not prove programme completion or economic outcomes
  • Current partnership status requires confirmation

Lessons learned

  • Data protection must be built into participant registration
  • Livelihood claims require follow-up evidence beyond training attendance

Sustainability approach

A future funded phase would require market analysis, partner confirmation, mentoring pathways and realistic follow-up.
